MEET THE TEAM
Director / Senior Kitchen Designer
Gary founded Meridien Interiors Ltd in 2010 after a long career directing his own plastering business. Once he decided to ‘down tools’, Gary saw an open market for kitchen design, supply and installations and started Meridien Interiors. Since 2010, the business has grown significantly especially within the trade and the forecast for future growth looks very promising. He has an active, outdoor lifestyle and has hobbies including boating, fishing and motorcycle riding. A love of travel makes Gary very well cultured and he enjoys a holiday relaxing on the beach as much as he enjoys extreme snowboarding. Gary takes pride in raising money for charity and is currently training for a trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and a bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats in aid of Cancer Research UK and The British Heart Foundation.
Director / Bookkeeper
Dawn is a much-valued member of the team and has a broad knowledge of business development which is key to the running of the day to day business. With previous experience in nursing, Dawn’s care and attention are put into every task she carries out. Her love of travel takes her to many places all over the world and she has an appreciation of different cultures and cuisines. Her love of cooking means you will often finding her in the kitchen slaving away over a new culinary delight. Dawn’s greatest achievement is her family and she loves spending any spare time she has with her children and grandchildren.
Kitchen Designer / Web Designer
Karl joined the business in 2014 and his career has flourished. He is extremely tech savvy, dealing with all aspects of the business from web design to kitchen design. Karl’s background in professional graphic design compliments his job roles and allows him to carry out all tasks with complete competence. He is an early-bird and is often the first in in the office proving his reliability. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family both here in the UK and in Greece as much as he can. With an active lifestyle, you will often catch him swimming (sinking), mountain biking, walking the dogs or tending to his much-loved allotment. A keen DIY-er, Karl is often grabbing any spare materials from work and creating something fantastic from them for his young son.
Maria has previous work experience in customer service, bookkeeping, sales and account managing. With an NVQ in bookkeeping, she has a great understanding of the financial infrastructure of the business. She has enjoyed learning to design both kitchens and websites alike and has a keen eye for finishing details. An avid bookworm, you will often catch her with her head buried in a book. She currently has a second property renovation under way which she is thoroughly enjoying and is taking up much of her spare time. Maria loves photography and walking through the countryside and combined, this makes for a great photography portfolio. She loves to travel and has enjoyed being able to see much of the world.
Michelle has recently joined the business bringing with her a huge knowledge of commercial sales, customer service and account managing. She has taken on the role of Office Manager which ensures she is very busy and keeps her organisation skills sharp. Michelle is not afraid of any task and completes every project with efficiency and expertise. With a relaxing lifestyle, Michelle enjoys travelling worldwide and throughout the UK. She makes the most of the long weekends with short breaks that often includes paddle boarding, hiking, climbing mountains and riding her mountain bike. A keen gym goer, Michelle likes to keep her schedule busy both inside and outside of work.
Kitchen Designer / Interior Designer
Shona is an experienced Interior Designer and recently joined Meridien having run her own design consultancy for 10 years. Shona is particularly passionate about space planning and enjoys kitchen and bedroom design especially. Shona’s skills include all aspects of interior design including spatial planning, soft furnishings, colour and décor concepts, furniture sourcing and show home styling. She has worked with developers on new build projects and with private clients on domestic extensions and refurbishments. During her spare time (what spare time?), Shona enjoys walking her dog, playing tennis and travelling.
Sandy is Meridien’s office administrator responsible for keeping the office running smoothly, maintaining the stock levels and keeping all staff on their toes, which she does easily having a background not only in administration, but also in nursery childcare.
Sandy is a mother with four children, so spare time is something of a rarity… but when she can find five minutes to herself she enjoys walking her dog, going out for dinner and watching movies at the cinema.
