Blue Kitchen Colour Trend

Here at Meridien Interiors we see the kitchen colour trends happening right before our eyes, and 2020 has not disappointed. With clients across Dorset embracing the bold and sophisticated blue hues in their kitchens.

The blue hues work well with the neutral shades of grey and creams. By mix and matching the colours in your kitchen it gives a real design twist to the kitchen, changing the whole feel to the space. Combining colours in an open plan space is a great idea as it allows you to carry the colour through to the living space, with furniture and accessories to match.

We have recently installed three kitchens across Dorset with clients opting for the bold blue choice. All kitchens have been the Fitzroy from Second Nature, which is a smooth finish shaker style kitchen door. The chosen blue hue for all three of these kitchens has been the Hartforth Blue, a deep blue that works well with lighter colours such as Partridge Grey and Porcelain.

1 – A redevelopment of flats in Swanage, sees the Hartforth Blue combined with the Partridge grey and natural wood finishes for the breakfast bar and door handles, across both the coloured kitchen doors. Enhancing the Hartforth blue and keeping on trend a curved copper tap was installed at the kitchen sink.

2 – An updated kitchen in Verwood again sees the Hartforth Blue. With the large kitchen island and dining space a real focal point in the kitchen design it was not a hard decision to choose the Hartforth blue for these cabinets. Choosing stainless steel cup handles to accentuate the blue hues.

3 – Our third kitchen in the Hartforth Blue is a large open plan living space with clients wanting a space that really stood out. This colour does work well on this kitchen door style, bringing the traditional shaker style forward into contemporary living.

The large kitchen island was the perfect choice for the Hartforth Blue with the client opting to mix the other doors with Porcelain. Drawing even more attention to the kitchen island, the ironmongery chosen in a classic cup handle in a stainless steel.
