The design team at Meridien Interiors took five minutes out of their busy schedule to let us know what they think are the top 10 kitchen must haves.
In no particular order these are Meridien Interiors Top Ten Kitchen Must haves
1 – DISHWASHER
Time saving kitchen appliance that has been see as an essential to a new fitted kitchen instead of a luxury. Depending on the space available will see a kitchen with an integrated dishwasher or perhaps housed in the utility room. Available in a range of sizes, from double to slimline.

2 – DOUBLESINK
A double bowl sink may not seem that important until you want to multitask. A double sink means that one bowl can be used for food preparation and clean up whilst the other can be used for washing dishes.
A double sink is perfect for when there is more than one cook in the kitchen.

3 – STORAGE SOLUTIONS
When having a new kitchen designed, storage is essential. Modern kitchen designs can offer a great range of clever storage solutions that help maximise space available. Some of the more popular storage solutions are pull out storage. Perfect for those corners cupboards where items could get delegated to the back of the cupboard. Also taking advantage of all the space available in the kitchen the space tower larder pull outs make a great space for storing bottles and spices.

4 – UNDER CUPBOARD LIGHTING
Good lighting is a must for a new kitchen. Under cupboard lighting is a great way to lighten up the functional areas of the kitchen. Not only does it make it easier to see what you are doing it also adds a warm and friendly atmosphere to the room.

5 – EYE LEVEL COOKING
Many modern-day ovens are designed to sit in oven housing, and you can choose the best position for them to sit. Having the ovens are eye level makes them easier to use, easier to keep an eye on what’s cooking, it also adds a certain design atheistic.

6 – INTERGRATED BINS
Built in rubbish bins are idea for a new fitted kitchen, keeping rubbish out of sight. Different types are available, making kitchen life that much easier. You can have the bins on hinged doors or a frame unit which fit either to the base or side of the cupboard.

7 – KITCHEN ISLAND
If kitchen space allows it, a kitchen island is on everyone’s kitchen Wishlist’s.
A kitchen island creates more storage space, a place for the hob and a place for the family to gather. If the space does not allow for a kitchen island, there is always the chance of a breakfast bar. Both design features are perfect for open plan living, as they create a definite divide between the kitchen and living spaces.

8 – PAN DRAWERS
Deeper than a normal kitchen drawer a pan drawer means that pots, pans and other larger kitchen appliances can be stored out of the way.

9 – QUARTZ WORKTOP

Personalise the Quartz worktop to suit your kitchen. Quartz is an extremely hard durable material that is non-porous and very resistant to cracks and stains.

10 – WINE COOLER
It may not be an essential, but a wine fridge is fast becoming a kitchen appliance must have. The difference between a wine cooler and fridge is temperature. A win fridge is designed specifically for keeping wine at its optimum temperature.
